Ooh, scary!

I'm back from a brief holiday hiatus. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa brought you lots of stamps and craft supplies! I was spoiled as usual and feel so blessed.

Today's card was so much fun to make. I created it for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast. This week's featured stamper is Barbara Schram aka Stampfilled Dreams over at SCS. You can check out her wonderful gallery here. This is the card I chose to CASE. I used different stamps and changed up the color scheme for my card.

To create my "scary" birthday scene, I used two sets of Storage Units, Ink & More stamps, Monster Party, and It's My Party. The PP is from Stampin' Up and so is the (still my fav) felt ribbon.

Thanks for checking in.

I {heart} Chocolate

Just a quick post tonight for my kwernerdesign weekly color challenge card. This is challenge #35. Check out this beautiful combination.

Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze, So Saffron and Very Vanilla. Yum! The colors were so delicious I had to use something delicious on the card and what fits the bill better than chocolate? I used the new stamps that arrived today from "My Cute Stamps". These images are so cute! I also used the sketch SC206 from SCS for the layout.

Doesn't this card just make you want to go have a piping hot cup of cocoa? Well go ahead! Treat yourself!

Merry Chrismoose

Ok, is this the cutest moose ever? It's the Merry Chrismoose from Stampendous and it's the first time I've inked him up, but it certainly won't be the last.

I wanted to play along with Jen's a "Sketch For You To Try" challenge this week. I chose this new Chatterbox patterned paper in gorgeous blue and brown for the background ... One of my very favorite color combos.

We had a somewhat unexpected three inches of snow fall over the weekend and while I realize that sounds like a dusting to those of you buried under several feet of the stuff, keep in mind that we rarely get snow here. Believe me when say that very few folks know how to drive in it so it makes for an interesting and sometimes even comical commute. Here's a small glimpse of the view from our back deck. It is definitely looking like a white Christmas. Now, if I just had my shopping done......

Birdie Birthday

Time for another Color Inspiration challenge from kwernerdesign and this week's colors are beautiful. I love it when I manage to find time to play along.

This week I began by pulling out some of my favorite Hero Arts stamps and some Color Block background stamps from Rubber Stampede. After stamping the backgrounds in the various colors, I stamped the bird and then colored it with Copic Markers before cutting it out and placing it on dimensionals.

The final touch was the addition of a blue bow for accent. Check out the inspiration piece. You're bound to be inspired too.

SUINKWWC18 - Hi Sweetie Pie

Happy Hump Day and welcome to another Whachadoin' Wednesday challenge from Storage Units, Ink & More. The twist today? To create a card from a holiday set that is non-holiday in nature. Love this! I chose the Bountiful Harvest set and grabbed that adorable little pie again. I just love this little stamp. Of course my attempt to stay away from sweets may have had a slight influence on my choice! ;-)

The PP is Stampin' Up and so is the delicious felt ribbon. I can't get enough of this stuff. I used a computer generated sentiment to tie into the image.

The excitement is building over at SUINK as we get ready to announce the new design team members. Be sure and check in and don't forget to leave your link to your creation. Also, if you upload to SCS, please use SUINKWWC18 as a keyword so we can enjoy your cards.

Cuttin' the Pow Pow on a Blue Bird Day

I'll admit it. I am clueless when it comes to snowboarding ... and I'll confess that I had to Google snowboarding terms to come up with a title for today's post. Pretty sad, huh? By the way, for the rest of you "uncool" folks out there, the title translates to "snowboarding in fresh powder on a beautiful day".

I may not know snowboarding but I do know stamps and I love this set from Storage Units, Ink & More called "Aspen". Can't you just feel the crisp air and the hear the snow crunching underfoot? For a view of the other 11 stamps in the set check out this link to SUINK.

For a full list of materials used to create this card, please check out the details below.

Hope everybody's week is off to a great start.

Peace on Earth

Yikes, I am so far behind in posting my design team work. I had better get busy and show them off.

This sweet little image of Mary and baby Jesus is from the "Oh Holy Night" set from Storage Units, Ink & More. It is just one of 11 images that are so much fun to play with. I love it paired with this shimmery patterned paper from Heidi Grace. The coloring is done with Copic markers. The rest of the design is pretty straight forward and you'll find the specific details below.

I'll be back tomorrow with one or two more cards. I have to make up some ground!

I peeked at the awesome cards made for Whachadoin' Wednesday and I have to say they are outstanding. Check them out at SUINK's blog.

Happy Birthday Denise!

We have a birthday girl in our midst today! Happy Birthday Denise! Denise is our fearless leader and owner of Storage Units, Ink & More. The design team thought it would be fun to surprise her and create cards for her using stamps from SUINK.

I used stamps from two sets, Leap Frog and It's my Party. Doesn't this little frog look like he's just jumping for joy? He must really like birthdays. (More than some of us!) I hope you are as excited about yours, Denise and I hope it brings you a day filled with all your favorite things!

Happy Birthday!!!

Roughin' It Revisited

Denise from Storage Units, Ink & More asked her design team to get creative this week and show everyone just how versatile her stamp sets are by coming up with a holiday card or project using one of the previous (non-holiday) stamp sets.

After looking through all the great sets, I settled on "Roughin' It" and got busy! This card is for all those RVers out there who spend most of their time on the road.

I began by stamping the trees on vanilla card stock and then adding the computer generated "There's no place like home for the holidays" sentiment. I then stamped, colored and cut out the trailer and placed it on dimensionals. I also hand drew a small wreath and colored it with Copic markers before cutting it out and "hanging" it on the door.

I loved this challenge and can't wait to see what the other design team members have whipped up. Be sure to visit SUINK's blog to check it out for yourself.

Here's hoping wherever you call "home" for the holidays is warm and filled with happiness!

Ornament Chickadee

Have you seen the chickadee stamps from Impression Obsession? There are six different ones and five of them are Christmas related. They have become my favorite stamps for this holiday season.

This one is called "Ornament Chickadee". I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and then added color with Copic Markers. I covered the ornament with Twinklets plastic glitter. I love the sparkle that this stuff adds ... a ton of sparkle! The image and mat were cut out with my Wizard and Nestabilities.

When I added a rub-on from Hambly Screen Prints, I think the card took on the overall feeling of a vintage postcard.

Thanks for checking in. Have a blessed Sunday.

Merry Christmas to Ewe

I just love it when a card comes together quickly and the end result is just what you imagined it would be. I created this card for kwernerdesign's Color Challenge. Here are this week's colors.

I resorted to using one of my all time favorite stamps by Penny Black. I adore this little lamb. I stamped him in Memento and then colored him with Copic Markers. I created the frame by using two sizes of Nestabilities and mounted it on dimensionals. The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs...it was also cut out with my Nestabilities.

I got this patterned paper as part of my September Scarlet Lime monthly kit. Isn't it gorgeous? Love it!

I'm off to bed. I am baking bread tomorrow for Thanksgiving and need to get some rest! Have a super Wednesday.

SUINKWWC16 - Oh Holy Night

It's Wednesday and you know what that means ... It's Whachadoin' Wednesday Challenge time! Today's challenge is to make a holiday card in non-traditional colors. I figured you can't get much more unconventional than a deep aqua (Arctic Pool by Core'dinations) light blue, soft beige, and a chocolate brown.

This little angel is from the "Oh Holy Night" set by Storage Units, Ink & More. I just love the angel's sweet expression. This set has all the makings of a little Christmas Pageant. You have to check out all the stamps in the set to appreciate how versatile it is and besides, they are so dang cute! I paper pieced the angel's gown with Heidi Grace PP and added Stickles to the wings for the sparkle. The sentiment is mounted to a chipboard star that was covered in more Core'dinations card stock. BTW, the card was made using the "Sketch For You To Try" challenge at I {heart} 2 stamp.

Now it's your turn to create something with a unique holiday color combo. Be sure to use SUINKWWC16 if you upload your creation to SCS.

I'll be back shortly to post another card for the kwernerdesign color challenge.

Night all.

Christmas Cottage

Sorry I have been away so long. It seems like ages since I've had a moment to sit down and play.

This cute little cottage and sentiment is part of the "Deer Ol Santa" set from Storage Units, Ink & More. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and used my Copics to color the cottage. I dusted the roof and ground with Martha Stewart's fine glitter and finished it with my favorite ribbon.

Thanks for checking in. I'll have plenty more to show you later this week.

Design Team Call

Check out this posting from Storage Units, Ink & More's blog!

That's right I am going to be looking for three new members to be added to our team starting in January! Do you think you can make the cut! I have a few people I have been watching but I can't be every where so I thought I would put out a call and see what I get. Here are the rules of the call. You do not need to use SUINK stamps to participate, but if you have them you might as well flaunt them, now is your time. Pick out three or four of your favorite cards, or make some new ones if you are feeling really ambitious. Send them to me at yourrep@roadrunner.com along with a few words on why you would like to be on the team and who you design for now or in the past. It is important to know that I am looking for people who are dependable and enthusiastic. It is not required that you have been or are on another team so don't let that intimidate you newbies. I want fresh designs and people who can work well with others.

The requirements are pretty simple. It is a 6 month term. You will receive three stamps sets per release. The basics of the requirements are two cards per set and one 3-d item. There are a few more details but I will keep them for later.

So what are you waiting for send me your samples today! Deadline is December 7th with announcements on the 9th! Good luck.

I'll add my good luck as well!

The Cat's Meow - Part 2

Tonight I want to share with you the last two projects I did for my Special Guest Designer spot with The Cat's Pajamas.

When my stamps arrived from Alma at TCP, I was blown away by the new holiday set called Elegant Christmas. Every stamp in the set is a winner. I loved pairing the two specialty papers with the PP and then embossing the reindeer and sentiment in gold embossing powder.

My second card is was so much fun. I really have a thing for penguins and nobody does penguins better than TCP. I love the bright colors and was so excited to find this ribbon that was just the perfect match.

Here we are at Friday again. Lately I feel like just screaming out "Slow down already!", life is just zipping by too too fast. Happy TGIF everyone.

All You Need

is love....

Tonight's card is my entry for Kwernerdesigns Color Inspiration Challenge. Don't you love this muted palette of Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Sahara Sand, and Whisper White?

http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/images/1108/111108-swatches.jpg

I stamped four different images from Stampin' Up's Pocket Silhouettes for the focal point and then punched them out with my 1 5/8" square punch. I distressed the edges and then mounted them on card stock with dimensionals. The sentiment is a Stampin' Up rub-on.

I've had this ribbon in my stash forever, and finally found a project it was perfect for.

Thanks for checking in. I'll post my remaining projects for The Cat's Pajamas Special Guest Designer tomorrow, so be sure and come back then!

SUINKWWC14 - Happy Holidays

Today's challenge at Storage Units, Ink & More is a fun one. It's bound to put you in the mood for the upcoming holiday season. Personally, I'm still in denial that Christmas is only 41 days away! OMG, how is that possible?

The challenge is to make an ornament. You do not have to use SU Ink stamps, but if you have them we'd love to see them. I chose to make a very simple ornament using a Making Memories acrylic snowflake frame. I backed the frame with Creative Imaginations patterned paper. I then covered a chipboard star in Anna Griffin PP and added silver Stickles in a random pattern to add some shine. I punched a hole in the chipboard with my Crop-a-dile and threaded and tied silver ribbon to it. I stamped "Happy Holidays" from the "Deer Ol Santa" stamp set in SU Cranberry Crisp on the same PP, punched it out and added it to the star with dimensionals.

I can't wait to see what you create and post. If you upload to SCS, please put SUINKWWC14 in the keyword field so we can check it out!

Countdown Calendar

I was flipping through one of my craft magazines recently and literally stopped in my tracks when I saw an advertisement for Karen Foster's new Countdown Calendar. I couldn't wait to get my hands on one. I checked out a couple LSSs but struck out. I searched online until I finally managed to find one here. It looks like they are currently out of stock but are expecting more soon.

When the package arrived, that's when the fun began! It was both a pleasure and a challenge to decide how to decorate each little box. I used a combination of various Christmas patterned papers, stamps, tons of rub-ons and as much bling as I could muster. Here's my finished project. I can't wait to fill it with little goodies for my grandson Ivan! Have any great ideas? I'd love it if you would share them with me.

This is one that needs a closer look. Just click the image to enlarge.

The Cat's Meow

Yipee! I have to tell you that I have literally been waiting months for this day to arrive! I finally get to share some of the creations I made for The Cat's Pajamas Rubber Stamps as the "Special Guest Designer" for the month of November! I was so excited and honored when Alma contacted me and extended the invitation. I adore TCP stamps and couldn't wait to get busy creating with them.

How gorgeous is this new Christmas set? I love it paired with Webster's Pages - Starbright and Mistletoe Kisses patterned paper.
The next card is made with the "Smells Like Cake" (that title just cracks me up) set. That's Poochie over there showing off his red velvet birthday cake. I used My Mind's Eye papers and embellished with buttons threaded with floss. I reached for my Wizard and Nestabilities to cut out and emboss the "birthday boy". The small cupcakes were stamped and then colored with Copics. I then cut them out and mounted them on dimensionals.

The last card for the day is made with the "Loving Mew" set. This little robot is the cutest thing I have ever seen! I loved him so much I had to stamp him three times. :-) And that sentiment! What a perfect Valentine this would make.

I'll have two more projects to show you next Wednesday, so please come back then...in the meantime, you have to head over to TCP and check out the new stamps scheduled for release on November 7th. The sneak peeks I have seen from the Design Team are adorable!

Thanks again Alma for the honor. I had a blast!
