The Happy Couple

We are going to have a new addition to our family! No, it's not what you think, no new babies on the immediate horizon. We are gaining an uncle! My Auntie Gail is getting married on the 19th and this is the card I made for the wedding.

I used one of the small embossing folders three times and then scored the lines with my Scor-pal. The idea came from Sharon Johnson's site No Time to Stamp. Check out her gorgeous cards using this method.

I added small pearls to the embossed design and stamped the A Muse image in Brilliance Graphite black ink and added a small black bow with a glue dot to finish it off.

Welcome to the family Jerry!

Understated

How about something a little understated for a change. I don't think anyone would accuse me of being a minimalist on most of my cards. :-)

I love all the bird stamps that are so popular now. This one is from an Inque Boutique set called Nightingale. The sentiment is also from an Inque Boutique set and is called Quotopia. I stamped the bird on patterned paper, cut it out and mounted it on foam squares.

I masked the card leaving just a small square that I inked with various shades of gray. The finishing touch is a small star covered in gold Stickles.

A Happy Memory

Can you believe that Christmas is but a happy memory? I hope you all had a magical holiday. We had such a good time with family. My grandson is just under 22 months and he was so much fun to watch. We have not had any children in our family for so long that I had almost forgotten how much life and joy they bring to the season.

I was spoiled rotten as usual. Today's card is made with some PP that my daughter and son-in-law gave me. It's Kurio by K & Company. I combined it with one of my favorite sentiments from Impression Obsession.

Well I'm off to bed. I have to get up early because my DH is taking me to IKEA tomorrow to look for more storage solutions for my obsession.

Have a terrific weekend!

Love that Snowman

Isn't that the perfect name for this Stamps Happen, Inc. stamp? I just love the detail in their stamps but I have to tackle them when I have lots of patience because it takes forever to color them.

I used my Copic markers while watching the corny but fun movie "The Holiday". It made the process so much easier.

Would you believe I still haven't decorated my tree? That's definitely on my agenda for tomorrow night.

TGIFAIRRRMI! (Thank God it's Friday, and I really really really mean it!)

Snowbound

Well not really, since heavy snowfall is a rarity in these parts, but it is the name of this stamp from Stampendous - One of the Pookie stamps from the Pixel and Pookie series. I colored him with my Copics and paired him with a "vintage" PP from KI Memories Pieces of me collection and a Hero Arts sentiment.

This stamp reminds me of when I used to get my children all bundled up to go play in the snow. After 15 minutes of tugging and stuffing them into their little snowsuits, boots, mittens, hats, etc. I would without fail hear them say, "Mommy, I have to go potty".
Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season.

Friend to Friend

How about a little somethin' springy as a nice break from all these Christmas cards? I made this for a friend's birthday this week. I love this Daisy Bucket Designs PP, it's so pretty and has a great textured feel to it. This particular paper is called Sweet Marabella.

Anyone else starting to get nervous about being ready in time for Christmas? I have so much shopping, cleaning, and baking to do that I'll be lucky to wrap things up (pun intended) by the 25th.

Have a super and productive weekend!

Da Vinci Santa

A light shining on our neighbor's front porch, what a welcome sight! Yeah, we have power!!! I don't think I will ever take it for granted again. Well for at least a few weeks anyway.

The minute I saw Inkadinkado's spoof of the Vitruvian Man, I had to order it. "The Da Vinci Santa" just tickles my funny bone. I stamped him with Brilliance Graphite Black and colored him with Copic markers. I also used Liquid Applique on his cuffs and hat. The rest of the details are listed below.

Here's wishing everyone a great week. Stay dry, stay warm, and stay well.

Crossing over to cranky

Anyone miss me? I sure have missed you! You may have heard that parts of the Oregon and Washington coasts suffered hurricane force winds last weekend. Well, I live 15 miles from the ocean in Southwest Washington and we got it, full force! We felt like the three little pigs with a big bad wolf trying to huff and puff and blow our house down! It went on and on for well over 24 hours. I am writing tonight's entry from the comfort of a nice warm hotel room because after seven days without power or water at home, I told my husband that I had officially crossed the line from being irritated to downright cranky! :-)

Seriously though, we are so much better off than so many others. Our house is intact and no one was hurt. Others lost homes, and some even lost loved ones to the storm, so we are so very grateful.

Here is the last of the cards I made for the Christmas Party. I had to really "bling up" at least one of them, didn't I? I hope to be able to be back to my regular posts once our power is restored. Please pray that it will be by tomorrow. I'm a woman on the edge.

Arghhh!

What a great weekend! We got our first snowfall of the season on Saturday. In this part of the Pacific Northwest we often go without snow the entire winter. I absolutely love to watch it snow and get as excited as a kid when it starts to come down.

This weekend was also our company Christmas party and my husband and my 12th wedding anniversary. Great fun packed into such a small time span, although it would be nice to have the time to focus more on each sometimes.

Today's card is a little bit of fun with new The Cat's Pajamas stamps. I love all things "pirate" and these are just too darn cute.
