The Monster Mash

Check out Kimberly's incredible "Monster Mash" sneak peek today. It's so so cute!

Hello! Scarecrow

Yeah! It's sneak peek time again! The September releases for Storage Units, Ink & More are the cutest sets yet. Of course I am partial to fall and the colors that go with it so I may be just an bit biased. :-) I didn't get a chance yesterday to tell you to head on over to Debbie and Bethany's sites for more sneak peeks ... so go now! You don't want to miss out, do you?

You also don't want to miss out on the chance to receive all 6 sets of stamps in the release set for September 1st. All you need to do is visit SU Ink & More's blog and enter your guess for how many M & Ms there are in Denise's jar. This link will take you directly to the entry post.

This adorable scarecrow and sentiment are part of the "Leaf it to Me" set. It is loaded with 15 fun fall images. I used Core'dinations card stock for the card base and added scrumptious My Mind's Eye patterned paper. The layout is this week's Mojo Monday from Poetic Artistry. Love Julee's sketches! I added a touch of "straw" to the sentiment. You can have a better look in this close-up view.

I hope you are kicking back and relaxing (or whooping it up, if you prefer!) over this three day weekend.

Later....

Labor Day - BC #62

Time for another Blogger's Challenge . . . This week the challenge was to make a card for Labor Day and we could decide whether to make a baby or patriotic card. Gee, can you guess which direction I went with? :-)

I have been wanting to pull out this set from Artistic Outpost. I love the vintage feel and patriotic theme. I stitched together four different PPs to create the background. I wish I could remember where I got this ribbon from. It has the softest gauze feel to it and is so easy to work with, plus it was a perfect match to my ink choice...can't beat that!

Today is the start of new sneak peeks for the September release of Storage Units, Ink & More. Check out Susan and Lauren's blogs today and tomorrow features Kendra and Leigh! You have got to check out the adorable sets that will be released on September 1st...so, so cute!!

This month Denise from SU Ink & More is having a fun contest that runs through Sunday, August 31st. Check out the jar to the right....think you can you guess how many M & Ms are in there? Just leave your guess on the SU Ink & More's blog entry and you could win all 6 sets from the new release and the jar too!!

Warm Hospitality

Sorry for the color in tonight's photo folks. I rarely have an opportunity to make and photograph my cards during the day when the lighting is good and sometimes it is really apparent...like tonight!

This card is for CI #20 which called for the use of Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla. Love these colors and yet I really struggled with this week's challenge. I hope my mojo is taking just a mini- vacation!

Speaking of vacation, I am getting so excited for our trip coming up in September. I am attending a conference in Orlando for three days and then DH and I are renting a car and driving to Savannah for 2 days and then on to Charleston for another 2 days before heading back to Orlando for the flight home. We haven't been to either place and we can't wait to explore both cities. If you have any tips or "don't misses" for us drop me an email or leave a comment on this post. We'd love to hear your thoughts!

It's Fall Y'all

Today's card pays homage to my favorite time of year. FALL!

I love stumbling across new (at least to me) stamp companies. This terrific image and sentiment from FireCracker Designs by Pamela are really one image called Medium Crow. I stamped it once and colored and cut out the crow and then stamped just the sentiment part by covering the remainder of the image with scotch tape before inking and then removing the tape to stamp. I air brushed the Nestability square with the die still in place with three different Copic Markers to give it a textured look .

I used a variety of PP from Prima, Sassafras Lass and then colored a plain white flower with Copics to match the colors used in the rest of the card.

Thanks for checking in.

Shhh!

I thought I would show you something other than a card today. I forget how much fun other projects can be sometimes. I loved working on this door hanger. I covered an inexpensive wood door hanger from Michaels with Bella Rose DP from Stampin' Up. I added a second layer of dp and trimmed it with a scalloped border in Riding Hood Red and a touch of Kiwi Kiss trim.

The little teddy bear is from Storage Units, Ink & More's "Bear with Me". I stamped it on another sheet of dp, cut it out and added it to a circle and scallop that were cut out with Nestabilities. The sentiment is from the same set and it was stamped in Riding Hood Red and also cut out with my Wizard and Nestabilities. I added rub-on letters and a few crystals and finished it with a polka dot bow. I can't wait until someone has a little girl so I can give it as a gift. Seems like everyone I know that is expecting is going to have a boy. ...of course that's a great excuse to make one in blue. :-) Like I really need an excuse!

Enjoy your weekend!

The Imposter

Kristina at kwernerdesign has posted a new color challenge and this time we get to add a touch of a color of our choice to basic black, basic gray and whisper white.

I used black for my base card and added a layer of gray that was embossed with the spiderweb embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. I then used Stampin' Up's color spritzer tool to spray some black ink on the white card stock. The cute little spider stamp is by Savvy Stamps and the pumpkin (part of a Stampendous stamp) was colored with Copics, cut out and placed on dimensionals. The Tricks and Treats stamp is by A Muse Artstamps.

Thanks for another fun challenge Kristina. So glad your back is starting to feel better!

Whachadoin' Wednesday - **Sparkle**

Ready for another challenge?

It's time for Whachadoin' Wednesday again and this week we are puttin' on the glitz. That's right, anything that sparkles and shines! Glam up those cards and then leave a comment on the Storage Units, Ink & More blog so we can check them out. Remember, we'd love for you to use SU Ink & More stamps, but it's not a requirement to play. If you upload your card to SCS be sure to put SUINKWWC2 in the keyword.

My card this week is made with the panda bear from the "Bear With Me" stamp set. I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in the black areas with a Copic Marker. I applied glue to the white areas and then sprinkled him with fine glitter. You can see it better in the close-up. The sparkly paper is from DCWV "All Dressed Up" matstack. The butterfly was cut out from another print in the same matstack. I finished it off by adding a satin black and white ribbon.

While you're at the SU Ink site, be sure to check out the sale Denise has going on Core'dinations card stock!

You Old Bird - BC #60

Sorry, I am beyond late in posting my card once again! This is my card for the Blogger's Challenge. We needed to make a birthday card this week. I chose to use the Bird Assortment set from Inkadinkado to make a card for my dear friend Karin. (She's the only one I can get away with calling an old bird!)

I stamped the owl in Versamark and then in Adirondack Caramel and embossed with fine detail clear embossing powder. I then colored her in with Copic Markers. The PP is from the Basic Grey Fruitcake collection.

The winner of my blog candy never stepped forward so I drew a new winner today.... and the winner is.....

Send me your address Leanne so I can have Denise from Storage Units, Ink & More ship your set right out! Congratulations!

Hope your week ahead is terrific!

Whachadoin' Wednesday

Whachadoin'? Are you up for a little challenge?

Beginning today, Storage Units, Ink & More will be issuing a Whachadoin' Wednesday challenge. What a great excuse to hit the stamp room (closet?) and get creating! What's even better is that there will be a new challenge every Wednesday. We would love you to play along. Just upload your creation to either your blog or SCS and show us what you've got! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword SUINKWWC1 so we can find it in the gallery. Oh, and don't forget to leave a comment on the SUINK blog to let us know where we can view your masterpiece.

Here's my card .....
Can you guess what the challenge is this week?

If you guessed...EMBOSSING FOLDERS...you got it! The challenge is to use any embossing folder somewhere on your project.

I chose the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder for my card. I started out making a card using the SFYTT challenge but veered off track slightly along the way. That seems to happen to me a lot. :-) I love to combine Mr. Campy (from Cosmo Cricket) and the "Roughin' It" stamp set from Storage Units, Ink & More. They look like they were made for each other. Core'dinations card stock is the perfect choice to use when embossing because it has a coordinated core color that just "pops" when sanded. Denise carries a wonderful selection of Core'dinations in a terrific range of colors in her store. Be sure to check it out.

A Teddy Bear is Always There

I have always loved Teddy Bears. I collected them for years until they really began to take over my bedroom, not unlike my stamps and supplies do these days. :-) That's why I was so excited to find out that one of the new sets in Storage Units, Ink & More's August release was called "Bear with Me". It has the cutest variety of bears in it!

To create this card, I began by stamping and paper piecing the bear on the inside of the card. Next, I cut out a window in the card front so he could peek through. I then punched a square in a scalloped square of K & Company patterned paper that I created with my Nestabilities. I finished the square by attaching a green card stock square to use as trim.

Rieca, where are you?!! If I don't hear from you by tomorrow, I will need to draw a new winner for the stamp set. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading all of your birthday stories. They were all wonderful!

Drop by on Wednesday for something new and fun!!!

Hey Cupcake

I've been watching everyone playing along with Taylor from Taylored Expressions and her weekly Cupcake Challenge and decided it was time to join in. You can find this week's sketch here.

I pulled out the "It's My Party" set from Storage Units, Ink & More and got busy! This is the same set you can win by leaving a comment on this blog entry. Don't wait too long though because I am drawing the winner Sunday. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (sentiment is SU Cool Caribbean) and colored them with Copic Markers. I used Core'dinations card stock for the card base and Sassafras Lass patterned paper. The ribbon is from my ever growing stash.

Thanks for stopping by this weekend. Have a blessed Sunday.

What's Shakin'

I love Kristina's Color challenges! This week we are working with Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red and either Summer Sun or Green Galore. I chose to work with this adorable little guy and sentiment from Memory Box.

I also used a polka dot stamp from Savvy Stamps. I stamped it with Black Brilliance and then embossed with black embossing powder. I cut three strips of the contrasting colors to frame the hula master. :-) I am crazy about gingham ribbon especially this narrow one. They matched the card stock perfectly!

Don't forget to enter my stamp give-away. You can win the darling "It's My Party" set from Storage Units, Ink & More. Don't miss out! Just click here to go to the blog entry.

Want another chance to win a stamp set? Susan is showcasing another set today along with a give-away. Check it out at Susiestampalot!

Dive In

Here's one of my favorite cards that I made for a CHA Storage Units, Ink & More display. The stamps are from the "Get Your Goggles On" set and the card stock is my new favorite by Core'dinations. If you look closely, you'll see the Crystal Effects I used to give the appearance of water in the pool. This set has been so much fun!

More blog candy is making its debut today at Kimberly's and Leigh's blogs. Be sure to check them out. Come back tomorrow though, because it's my turn for a give-away!

Petals and Stems

I have two cards for you today. The first card was created for this week's Blogger's Challenge and one of the Meet the Verve Divas challenges. The Blogger's Challenge required a project that includes the colors Old Olive, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Rose Red. I chose the Petals and Stems stamp set from Verve and stamped and embossed the flowers before cutting them out and adding them with dimensionals. The scalloped border was created using a Martha Stewart punch. Be sure to check out the other Blogger's Challenge members creations. You'll find a link to their sites on my sidebar.

The second card is for this week's Mojo Monday. I used a beautiful handmade paper I had on hand for the background and added some K & Company Wild Saffron PP. The stamps are from the Feelin' Groovy and Petals and Stems sets, both from Verve. I pulled out my neglected of late Stickles and they provided just the right touch of sparkle.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I am super excited because I placed an order today for the new iPhone 3G. I got an iPhone when they first came out and I love it, but somehow (honestly, I have no clue) months ago, it got damaged and no longer rings. It drives me crazy to watch the screen when I'm waiting for a call so I don't miss it. Plus, there's some great new features. I just love new toys!

Enjoy your Sunday!
