Taking Notes

Do you remember these?

Well, I sure do! In fact, one of very favorite things about school was the school supplies. I would almost swoon over new notebooks, paper, pencils, etc. Hmmm, that's starting to sound familiar...do you suppose that was just a hint at my future addiction to scrapbooking and card making supplies?

Today we are doing another Serendipity Stamps challenge and this time, all of the design team members are using the same incredible stamp set. It's called the Floral Alphabet and I love this set! So much so, that I have owned the individual "K" for several years. Long before I ever dreamed of becoming a design team member. You really must check out the detail in the close-up below. So pretty!

Here's my project for the challenge. I thought it would be fun to alter this composition notebook. I have had it in my "project box" (you know where all those well intentions reside) for some time now.

I covered the notebook with Crate Paper patterned paper from the Lemongrass collection. I used Distress Inks to give it a more aged appearance and then stamped my initials with Rusty Hinge and Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I used a distressing tool and then inked the edges too. I adhered them with dimensionals to more paper from the collection and added a border made from Stampin' Up's new Scallop Trim border punch.

The flower is from Heidi Swapp and was originally a bright yellow-orange. I sprayed it with Caramel Apple and Suede Glimmer Mist and then added a few Prima flowers, and a Stampin' Up corduroy button tied with twine to finish it off.

I can't wait to take notes with my new notebook! And speaking of that, please take note of the other design team members' projects today. The links are listed below.

Like your notebook with the alphabet stamps-neat! I always liked getting new school supplies and at Christmas we always got a coloring book and a new box of Crayons; couldn't wait to try out those sharp points.
