Nature's Abundance - Sneak Peek

I can't believe that it is already time to show you a sneak peek for Storage Units, Ink & More's October stamp sets. October, for heaven's sake! How did that happen? Time just seems to have sped up lately, hasn't it?

You are going to absolutely love the sets that are being released on the 1st. There are four new sets and they include wonderful Thanksgiving, political, and football images.

My card is made with the "Giving Thanks" set. I stamped several images from the set to reflect the Nature's Abundance sentiment that is also part of the set. I used KI Memories patterned paper as the backdrop. This has to be one of my all time favorite papers. I love the colors and it has the most beautiful sheen. My card stock choice was Core'dinations. It always seems to be a perfect match for whatever papers I am working with. I finished the card by attaching a tag that I made with my Nestabilities and adding a felt flower from Stampin' Up.

Don't forget to check out the other sneak peeks listed in the previous entry! You're going to love them!

5 in 1 Challenge - Whachadoin' Wednesday

Denise, the owner of Storage Units, Ink & More has thrown out a challenge for the Design Team members to use at least 5 stamps in one card. The DT member that uses the most stamps will be declared the challenge winner.

Here's my card for the challenge:

I counted an even dozen of the adorable stamps from "The Witching Hour" set. Knowing just how competitive my fellow design team members are, I'm sure they will be tough to beat, but I love the card and had a terrific time making it. I stamped all the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then used a 1" square punch to turn them into inchies. I wanted to keep it to a mainly black and white theme so I added a touch of a sparkly orange gel pen to give each image just a hint of color.

Be sure and check back to find out how all the other design team members tackled the challenge!

What a Nightmare!

I made this little fella for the SCS sketch challenge this week. I know he's homely as he can be but he still cracks me up. This image along with the sentiment are part of the Monster Party set from Storage Units, Ink & More.

I stamped him with Memento ink and colored him with Copic Markers. The polka dots are created by touching the colorless blender pen to the colored area. I used a waterbrush and reinkers to create the "aura"around him and added Glossy Accents to his eye to give it some shine. It is after all his best feature don't you think? :-) To emphasize the nightmarish feeling, I glued on several pairs of googly eyes and drew little sets of eyebrows to go with them.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope your week ahead is a terrific one.

Fall is Fun - Blogger's Challenge #64

Happy Friday!

Blogger's challenge this week is to use Designer Series paper. You asked for it, you got it! I used a total of 9 different papers to make this card. You'll find a complete list below. I ran across one of my old Deluxe Cuts card templates the other day and thought it would be fun to use for this challenge.

The images are all from Storage Units, Ink & More's "Leaf it to Me" set. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them with Copic Markers.

Be sure to check out all the Blogger's Challenge entries. You'll find a link to their pages in my sidebar.

Have a great weekend!

Beware

More Halloween fun...this time with Storage Units, Ink & More's "The Witching Hour" stamp set. I love this little witch and while I was tempted to give her a pale green complexion with my Copic markers, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. She's just too cute to make creepy. :-)

The layout comes from this week's Mojo Monday over at Poetic Artistry. Julee has put together another great design for us to try.

I'm scrambling this week to get caught up at work and home because we leave for Orlando next Wednesday. Pray that the east coast has seen the last of the storms for now. It seems like every year I question whether or not it is worth it when I think about how hard I have to work both before and after a vacation, but I have to say that I am still so excited to be visiting Savannah and Charleston!

I have been very tardy in posting this little item. I was nominated for this award by Amy Caraluzzi and Mary Jo Price-Williams. What a wonderful surprise and honor. Thanks Amy and Mary Jo! I can't think of anything that makes a stamper happier than being appreciated by their peers (except maybe more stamps ). Please take a few minutes and visit their terrific blogs.

Boo! Frame

I had so much fun with this project! I wanted a frame that I could use to display my adorable (This is a totally smitten Nana talking here!) grandson's last year's Halloween photo. He had the greatest costume but trying to get a photo of him with his "mane" up was a losing proposition ... Mane or no mane, he was still the cutest lion around.

I took an inexpensive frame and covered it with KI Memories patterned paper. I then stamped several images from Storage Units, Ink & More's "The Witching Hour" stamp set. After coloring the images with my Copic Makers, I cut them out and popped them up on the frame. The "boo!" is made from Thickers stickers from American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Monster Party

It's release day for 6 new sets of stamps from Storage Units, Ink & More. I made this card from the "Monster Party" set. These little monsters just crack me up! And the best part is there are four more monsters in addition to these plus five sentiments to complete the set. It was tough deciding which ones to use because they're all just too dang cute... er, I mean scary.

It's funny because I am not a huge fan of the holiday itself, but Halloween cards are some of my favorite ones to make. You'll find all the details below.
