Dogtor's Orders

Today's card is for a co-worker who is in the hospital and could really use some encouragement. I thought if anything could cheer her up it would be "Nurse Sprinkle". Doesn't she look like someone who would have a great bedside manner? Especially with that hypodermic in her hand?

The sentiment "Dogtor's Orders" and "Nurse Sprinkle" are the creations of The Cat's Pajamas. The PP is Stampin' Up's Summer Picnic. I thought a little "apple a day" subliminal message couldn't hurt either!

C is for Cat

This has to be one of my favorite sets from the new Stampin' Up catalog. It's called "C is for Cat" and it is a must have for all cat lovers, which just so happens to include moi!

I stamped the cat, sentiment and paw prints in Memento Rich Cocoa and matched it up with some DCWV (I think, it's really old) patterned paper. The flower, felt ribbon and card stock are all Stampin' Up. The bling is provided by Kaisercraft Rhinestones.

Hope you're staying cool where you are. It was in the 90's here today. Thank the Lord for our heat pump. We only need air conditioning a few times a year but man, oh man, I love it then!

It's Not Just a Game

Baseball that is ... it's America's favorite pastime.

This card is meant to honor Mary's (Miss Serendipity Stamps herself) oldest daughter who participated in the USSSA Softball World Series last week.

All stamps are by Serendipity Stamps (of course!). The map paper is by Paper Pizazz. I colored the bat and mitt with Copic Markers and then trimmed them and placed them on dimensionals. The baseball "stitching" was created with my mat pack, piercer and red marker. The ribbon is Stampin' Up.

Here's to all the great kids across America who play the game they love and the parents who sit on the sidelines cheering them on!

Good Mail Day

As promised, here's my second Christmas in July card. It's also my second attempt at coloring my image with Distress Inks. I have to say, it is getting easier ... and speaking of images, isn't this festive holiday mailbox stamp wonderful? I just love the details, especially the little cardinal perched on top. I can't remember when I've looked forward to a weekend this much. It has been one crazy week at work. Is it a full moon or something? I'm really happy because I am also planning to take Monday off. My daughter and I are going shopping...for baby things! She is expecting my second grandbaby in February!! We are over the moon with excitement and just have to do a little shopping to celebrate.

Helpful Chipmunks

Hi everyone! It's time for another card using the weekly sketch challenge at SCS.

Today's card features the "Helpful Chipmunks" stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. I colored these cute little critters with Distress Inks. I have seen several stampers lately that use this method and have seen some incredible results. (Check out Yvonne's work ... simply amazing!) This was my first attempt and I decided that it is definitely going to take some major practicing to reach a level I'm happy with.
